Kenneth Szeto

Mr. Szeto has specialized for over seven years in civil litigation, particularly representing individual plaintiffs in bringing claims on their behalf. Prior to his specialization in plaintiffs’ work, Mr. Szeto engaged in litigation for various clients in diverse areas such as employment law, commercial and corporate law, fraud, contract disputes and fee arbitrations.

Mr. Szeto has extensive experience representing plaintiffs in all types of litigation in both federal and state court, including personal injury, wrongful death, wage and hour claims, wrongful termination and products liability. He has handled litigation through all stages of trial court proceedings, as well as negotiated settlements in arbitration and mediation.

Before forming Abiri & Szeto, Mr. Szeto was employed with a successful plaintiffs’ firm in Orange County where his emphasis was complex personal injury matters. He successfully recovered millions of dollars on behalf of his clients on a broad array of cases, such as clients that have suffered horrific injuries from motor vehicle/traffic accidents and clients sustaining substantial workplace injuries. Prior to his concentration on plaintiff’s work, Mr. Szeto began his legal career with Gibson Dunn in downtown Los Angeles, and eventually settled in Orange County.

Among Mr. Szeto’s accomplishments are:

  • Successfully securing maximum awards allowable under the law for multiple clients injured in automobile accidents.
  • Negotiating an aggregate of over several millions of dollars in settlements against nearly all major insurance companies in America
  • Sitting as the Academic Chair of the Asian Pacific Law Students Association at Columbia University

Mr. Szeto received his Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1998, and his Juris Doctorate degree from the Columbia University School of Law in 2001. Mr. Szeto provides pro bono legal services to various non-profit agencies and is involved with professional and community organizations in Orange County.
